Symphytum has traditionally been used for injuries to bone and the periosteum, the nourishing protective layer over bone. Symphytum is said to hasten the healing of bone and connective tissue, and is indicated wherever there is bone fracture or broken bones; old wounds that still hurt and are slow to heal; injury to cartilage or periosteum, and joint pain, especially of the knee.
